Paytm becomes title sponsor for Indian Cricket Team Jersey till 2019.

Star India current sponsors of Indian Cricket Team Jersey decided not to bid for sponsorship of jersey rights in next round  due to "lack of clarity" on the  cricket in future. Current deal will expire on March 2017 and BCCI is expected to take out tenders for sponsorship of the Indian team.

Uday Shankar, chairman and CEO of Star India, in his recent interview with Times of India, said
"We are very proud that our name is carried on the jersey of Team India. But given all the uncertainties, we have decided not to bid for it again. The commitments being asked for are too onerous without any clarity".

"Problem is that right now we do not see a consensual leadership in cricket. Currently, we have invested in cricket more than any other media company. Our investments in the game are to the tune of a few billion dollars. And hence the business risk is very high for us".

Star India is currently the jersey sponsor for the senior men’s, women’s and under-19 Indian cricket team.
